ADEN- SABA
Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin-Daghr welcomed the United Arab Emirate's announced grant of 100 Mega Watt in power supply to the temporary capital, Aden.
"The urgent aid signals the good relationships between the governments of Yemen and the UAE," said the Prime Minister.
The grant, worth USD500 million, will be an increase in the level of UAE economic support to Yemen, added Bin-Daghr.
"It underscores the UAE's attention to the liberated parts of Yemen and the Arab coalition's care about Yemeni people, especially Aden, where the people have been enduring power blackouts for years."
This grant announcement, Bin-Daghr said, comes after the inauguration of thee 60 MW Qatari power plant, a previous grant from the government of Qatar to the people of Aden. Bin-Daghr thanked both Gulf countries, their leaders and people.
The Prime Minister said he hopes his return to Aden will result in public service improvements, mainly in electricity, a goal pursued by the Yemeni government with help from the Saudi-led Arab coalition.
