Deputy Minister of Industry: Houthi militias destroyed Yemen's economy
[26/05/2017 02:14]

ADEN- The Houthi militias are pursuing a carefully planned scheme to destroy Yemen's economy, said a senior Yemeni Trade and Industry official. The rebel movement forcibly levy an excess of duties from all public sectors, added Ali Al-Sharafi, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry in a seminar held by economic experts in Aden.

Mohammed Aljomaee, a journalist, addressed, in his presentation, the black market of oil products saying it turned the national economy to a mysterious economy run by wealth snakes and warmongers (the militias in Sana'a).

"In their obliteration of the Yemeni economy and running of alternative (black) markets, the militias copied the Iranian Revolutionary Guards' way of running parallel institutions," said Aljomaee.

Another economic expert, Mustafa Nasr, exposed the disastrous condition of the Yemeni economy resulting from the militia's systematic depletion of the foreign cash reserves.
