Yemen PM: Aden coup avoided, mediations out UN rejected

Berlin, (Saba) - "What is named the Southern Transitional Council was a coup had been actually avoided," Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin Daghr has said.

The new governor of Aden Abdul-Aziz al-Muflihi will return to Aden and the government will also return as there is nothing banning its return, said bin Daghr in an interview with the BBC on Tuesday.

"Houthi rebelled against the state and has wide category of people, anyone can bring the people into the street is not always right," he added.

He asserted on absorbing security contradictions in Aden to serve the interests of the state and the people.

Over negotiations with rebel militias, bin Daghr said "we do not encourage any mediation or negotiation are not under the umbrella of the United Nations and President Hadi, the legitimate government and political forces forming the legitimacy and supporting it have unified position that is to avoid any form of indirect dialogue through international or regional mediator and any dialogue must be under the UN."
