Canada renews support to Yemen legal government

Ottawa, (Saba) - Yemen's Ambassador to Canada Jamal al-Sallal discussed Monday with Minister of International Development and La Francophonie Marie-Claude Bibeau bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting them in different fields, mainly humanitarian and development.

Al-Salal noted to continuous efforts of President Hadi and of the government to realize peace in Yemen on the three references; the GCC Initiative, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UN Resolution 2216 and to the critical humanitarian conditions over Hothi-Saleh war on the people.

He highly appreciated Canadian pledges of allocating CD 34 million as humanitarian assistances via UN organizations and its agencies in Yemen, hoping for more support in development field for reconstruction.

Ambassador al-Sallal called on Canada to join the 18th countries group entrusted in monitoring Yemen peaceful process.

For her part, Bibeau confirmed her country's support to Yemeni people and its legal government, as well as commitment to the UN relevant resolutions. She expressed regret on humanitarian suffering in Yemen and hoped political solution in the near future to end people's suffering.
