Riyadh (Saba)- Prime Minister Ahmed Obaid Bin Daghar on Wednesday discussed with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) Ahmed al-Kholaifey the provision of technical support to the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) to improve its performance and tasks.
The meeting underscored the importance of setting agenda and a cooperation plan between SAMA and CBY to support the legitimate government 's efforts to achieve financial stability and exchange-rate realignment.
It also dealt with the urgent priorities to operate CBY from the temporary capital of Aden and enable it to perform it tasks.
The premier commended the efficiency of SAMA and its experiences in organizing and managing the banking operations, hoping that Yemen can take advantage of these experiences to avoid an entire collapse of CBY after it was manipulated and looted by the Houthi-Saleh militias.
He further referred to the Saudi-Yemeni cooperation in defeating the Iranian plots aiming at destabilizing Yemen and the GCC States and endangering the international navigation, highlighting that Saudi Arabia took bold decisions and confronted these plots.
Al-Kholaifey emphasized that SAMA is ready to provide all aspects of assistances to guarantee the success of CBY in performing its tasks and functions, lauding the historical and distinguished relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
