Yemen's PM demands Russian pressure on rebels

Riyadh, (Saba)- Prime Minister Ahmad Obeid bin Daghr asked for increasing pressure from Russia on Houthi-Saleh's militias to stop their losing adventures and shedding Yemeni blood.

In his meeting with Russian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sergei Kozlov here, bin Daghr reviewed latest developments in Yemen and aftermaths of war waged by Houthi-Saleh militias on the people, as well as their rejection to people and international community's will for implementation the references of the political solution; the GCC Initiative, the Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and UN Resolution 2216.

While he stressed on putting pressure on Houthi-Saleh's alliance to implement these references, he valued Russian positions supporting legal authority in Yemen and its keenness on realizing peace, stability and ending suffering of Yemeni people.

Bin Daghr renewed his government's keenness on realizing peace on the bases of the three references and that the rebel party should carry out practical steps to stop the war, withdraw from the Capital Sana'a and handing over heavy weapons.

Half solutions will not lead to peace and neither the Yemeni people nor the international community will accept catastrophic aftermaths of legitimizing the coup as dangerous initiative for the world, said bin Daghr.

He noted to the continuation of using Hodeida Port by rebels for military purposes, weapon trafficking and looting relief and humanitarian aid while starvation is spreading in Hodieda city everyday.

He renewed demand to the UN to put the Port under its control to ensure access of needy people to aid.

For his part, Kozlov confirmed his country's attitude for supporting the legitimacy of President Hadi as legal president to Yemen and continuation of dealing with the legal government.

He expressed keenness of his country on returning to dialogue in accordance with known principles and peaceful atmospheres.
