Riyadh (Saba)- Vice President Ali Mohsin Saleh on Tuesday met here with Head of the European Delegation to Yemen Antonia Calvo-Puerta, discussing a number of issues as well as Yemen's updates and developments.

Vice President welcomed the EU official, lauding its diplomatic efforts, highly valuing the EU support to Yemen and its rejection to the Houthi-Saleh coup.

Vice President also spoke about Yemen's updates and the talks held between the legitimate government and the Houthi-Saleh militias under the patronage of the United Nations, making reference that the militias reject any attempts to reach a reconciliation.

He said that the legitimate government extends its hands to peace on the basis of the terms of reference which guarantee the end of the coup and restoration of the Yemeni state which is able to provide services to its people, respect the interests of the brotherly and friendly countries and fight terrorism.

He also citied that the Houthi-Saleh militias looted the state weapons and used them to kill Yemenis and took over the state institutions.

The European official stressed that the EU will continue supporting the legitimate government, signaling out that the EU is keen to put an end to Yemen's bloodshed and reaching a reconciliation.

Calvo-Puerta further affirmed that the EU is also interested in the contribution of Yemen's reconstruction, and providing humanitarian assistance and relief to Yemenis.
