AOHR organizes workshop on Yemen's development

Cairo, (Saba)- Arab Organization for Human Rights (AOHR) organized Wednesday a workshop on development in Yemen under the title " Yemen; Development Challenges Under Conflict."

Yemen's Ambassador to Egypt Mohammad Marem, Deputy Assistant of Human Rights Nabil Abdul-Hafiz, the Head of the National Council for Egyptian Human Rights Mohmmad Fae'q and a number of officials, experts and researchers participated in the workshop.

"Everyone has responsible feelings towards what is happening in Yemen," said Marem, who called on all rights organizations to adopt activities calling for development in Yemen as development is the foundation of stability.

Iran, via Houthi militias, does not want only to control Yemen but also domination on the Red Sea," he said, noting that only few Houthis make use of current situations not all Houthis and that the state institutions are profaned by Houthis.

He confirmed that the aim of the legal government under President Hadi is peace and stability and that the Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE with participation of Egypt and other countries has succeeded in restoring legitimacy to the Yemeni people represented in their legal President Abdo Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

"Talking about challenges facing development in Yemen reaffirms Yemeni people's desire of development not death," said Assistant Deputy Minister of Human Rights Nabil Abdul-Hafiz.

Houthi-Saleh's coup has pushed three million children out of school and recruiting 10 thousands others for joining their warfronts, he said, adding:" 86% of Yemeni people have become under poverty line and 18 million of them are to starve due to looting funds from the Central Bank of Yemen, Insurances and lands by rebel militias."

Development challenges in Yemen are represented in foreign "catastrophic interferences" in Yemen's affairs, said the Head of National Council for Egyptian Human Rights Mohmmad Fae'q, noting that terrorism finds a chance to spread in such environments.

He directed a speech to convening officials in donors' conference to be held on the 25th of this April:" There is international pledge and commitment to realize development in 2030 to eradicate hunger and poverty and {providing} health care and education to all people in the world."
