Information Minister calls for ending suffering of detainees

Minister of Information Muamar al-Eryani has called the international community and countries supporting peace in Yemen to swiftly intervene and put pressures on the Houthi-Saleh militias to release political prisoners, all other detainees and kidnapped persons in general.

He emphasized that that the Houthi-Saleh militias continue their criminal acts against the Yemeni people amid conspicuous silence of international human rights organizations.

The minister stressed the importance of implementing the UN resolutions, particularly the Resolution 2216 which stipulates to release all detainees including political prisoners, mainly the Defense Minister Mahmoud al-Subaihi, the veteran politician Mohammed Qahtan, Maj. Gen. Nasser Mansour Hadi and Maj. Gen. Faisal Rajab.

On the second anniversary of detaining Mohammed Qahtan, Al-Eryani strongly condemned the continuation of detaining thousands of politicians, activists and media professionals.

He further spelt out that the disappearance of Qahtan, al-Subaihi, Hadi and Rajab is a war crime, stressing that the Houthi Saleh must be held accountable and prosecuted.
