Local Administration Minister condemns abduction of IMC's staff
[02/04/2017 07:55]

Aden (Saba)- Minister of the Local Administration Abdul-Raqeeb Fatah on Sunday condemned the abduction of seven workers of the International Medical Corps in Ibb.

In a remark to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Fatah demanded the UN Humanitarian Coordinator Jimie McGoldreck to obviously denounce the acts practiced by the Houthi-Saleh militias against organizations working in Yemen.

"The silence towards these acts encourage them to commit further violations against relief and humanitarian organizations, hinder humanitarian efforts and extremely worsen the situation," Fatah added.

He reiterated that the acts of the militias in Dhamar, Taiz, Ibb and other governorates are in contrary with the humanitarian laws and conventions, indicating that the international silence encourages them to behave without any moral or humanitarian deterrence.

Fatah also called to firmly stand against the behaviors practiced by the militias against relief and humanitarian organizations, urging to enable these organizations to perform their tasks appropriately in the governorates run by the militias.
