Aden (Saba) -The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) on Wednesday held in Aden a symposium on mechanisms of protecting issues of human rights violations.
Deputy Governor of Aden Adnan al-Kaf reviewed the dire situation Aden faced during the brutal war carried out by militias of the Houthis and Saleh and the systemic destruction of Aden and the state institutions.
Director of Aden Security Shalal Shaya'a said that the militias committed gross crimes against human rights across different governorates of Yemen, pointing out that they amount to war crimes.
He also revealed that a terrorist cell, which is affiliated to al-Qaeda and ISIS, was captured by security services, indicating that the cell includes experts of explosive manufacturing.
UN Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights Marina Hadad said that OHCHR operates to monitor and document violations committed across Yemen including those governorates which are not controlled by the putschists.
She also said that the symposium aimed at intensifying the activities of OHCHR in all governorates.
