The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the entry of Israeli extremist settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, describing the accompanying actions as provocative and unacceptable.
In a statement received by Saba, the ministry said the incident represents a blatant breach of international law and relevant international resolutions, and constitutes a direct affront to the religious sentiments of Muslims across the world.
The statement emphasized that all attempts to impose changes on the established historical and legal status of occupied Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque are illegitimate and devoid of any legal effect.
It affirmed that such measures are inconsistent with international law and the resolutions adopted by the United Nations regarding the occupied Palestinian territories.
The ministry renewed Yemen’s appeal to the international community to take prompt and meaningful action to ensure that the Israeli occupation authorities cease their violations against the Palestinian people and their sacred sites, and adhere to their obligations under international resolutions.
Reaffirming Yemen’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, the ministry underscored the Palestinian people's right to obtain their full and legitimate national rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
