Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Mustafa Noman met Wednesday with Mahmoud Abu Haseeba, the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Aden, marking the conclusion of his tenure.

During the meeting, Noman reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustained coordination with the ICRC to help alleviate humanitarian suffering and enhance the effectiveness of its programs.

He emphasized that the issue of prisoners and detainees remains a top government priority, welcoming the efforts of the UN Envoy’s Office in this regard and calling for intensified action to resolve this humanitarian file in line with international law and principles.

The Vice Minister also welcomed the incoming Head of Mission Amira Kadiir, underscoring continued cooperation and the government’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitation to support her work in serving the population.

He commended Abu Haseeba for his contributions during his tenure.

For her part, Kadiir expressed her pleasure at returning to Yemen and resuming her work, voicing hope for continued support and constructive cooperation.

The meeting further addressed challenges facing the ICRC’s operations and explored ways to overcome them to ensure the effective delivery of its mandate.
