Minister of Public Works and Roads Eng. Hussein al-Aqrabi discussed Monday with German Ambassador to Yemen Thomas Schneider ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the fields of roads and infrastructure.
During the meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister Dr. Mohammed Thabet and Charge d'Affaires if German Embassy Sophia Hertzberg, both sides reviewed the main challenges facing the public works sector and the urgent needs to develop road networks and improve infrastructure, in a way that supports economic development and facilitates transportation.
Minister Al-Aqrabi affirmed the government’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the German side and benefiting from modern expertise and technologies in implementing road and infrastructure projects, praising Germany’s supportive role in Yemen’s development efforts.
For his part, the German Ambassador expressed his country’s readiness to strengthen partnership with the Ministry of Public Works and Roads and support vital projects that contribute to improving basic services, stressing the importance of continued coordination to achieve tangible results on the ground.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue coordination and joint work to advance areas of cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries.
