[15/04/2026 07:03]

MARRAKESH – SABA
The Republic of Yemen and the Kingdom of Morocco signed today an expanded technical cooperation agreement in the field of civil aviation between the two brotherly countries.

The agreement, signed by Yemen’s Minister of Transport, Mohsen al-Amri and Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Kayouh, includes the exchange of expertise in civil aviation safety and security, laws related to air navigation, cooperation in negotiating air service agreements and economic monitoring of air cargo companies.

It also covers licensing, the development of programs to strengthen human resource capacities and material resources through training courses and study visits, as well as assistance in airport development and management.

In addition, it aims to activate twinning projects between administrations and airports in both countries, and establish public-private partnership projects to enhance aviation efficiency.

The agreement also stipulates the formation of a joint follow-up committee comprising representatives from both ministries.

The committee will be responsible for preparing annual work programs, coordinating implementation, and periodically evaluating results. Its meetings will be held alternately in Aden and Rabat.

Following signing the agreement, the Minister of Transport highlighted the importance of this cooperation, which comes within the government’s plans to strengthen digital governance in the transport sectors of the republic and develop infrastructure, airports, ports, and affiliated authorities.

For his part, the Moroccan Minister of Transport affirmed his country’s full readiness to provide all expertise and technical capabilities to support Yemen’s civil aviation sector, in a way that enhances Arab integration in this vital sector.
