Masam Project Removes 908 Landmines in One Week

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s Masam Project for clearing mines in Yemen removed 908 landmines during the second week of March 2026, which had been planted by the Iran-backed Houthi militia across several governorates.

According to a statement issued by the project, the removed items included three anti-personnel mines, nine anti-tank mines, 890 unexploded ordnance, and six improvised explosive devices.

The statement noted that the total number of mines cleared during March has now reached 2,171, while the overall number of mines removed since the launch of the Masam Project has risen to 548,123.
