Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Salem al-Subaihi held Thursday here the second meeting with a number of ministers.
The meeting included Ministers of Agriculture, Irrigation and Fisheries Salem al-Socotri, Education Dr. Adel Abdulmajid al-Abadi, Public Works and Roads Engineer Hussein Awad al-Aqrabi, Local Administration Engineer Badr Basalma and Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Afrah al-Zouba.
Al-Subaihi reviewed the ingoing work and conditions of the various ministries, stressing the importance of developing their performance within efforts aimed at strengthening public services and supporting social and economic stability.
He emphasized the importance of boosting agricultural and fisheries production to achieve greater self-sufficiency by supporting farmers, developing irrigation systems, and preserving marine resources, in a way that contributes to achieving food security and enhancing social stability.
He also urged the Ministry of Education to improve the educational process and its outcomes in order to prepare well educated generation capable of serving its society and nation, through curriculum development, teacher training, and providing an appropriate learning environment for students.
The Presidential Leadership Council member pointed to the importance of maintaining roads and developing infrastructure to facilitate transportation and support economic development, in addition to implementing plans to repair main networks and expand service and development projects.
Al-Subaihi also highlighted the importance of strengthening administrative decentralization and supporting local authorities in the governorates by improving the level of services and enabling local administrations to face challenges and achieve balanced development.
He also urged the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to prepare and implement comprehensive development plans and to strengthen partnerships with donors and international organizations, contributing to attracting external support and implementing strategic projects that support the national economy and help achieve stability.
The Presidential Leadership Council member also emphasized the importance of integrated efforts among ministries and working as one team to implement the government’s plans and reform programs, stressing the need to continue working at a high pace to overcome existing challenges and ensure the efficient and effective implementation of development projects and plans.
