The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPRDY) signed today in Riyadh with the Response Foundation for Humanitarian and Relief Work an agreement to implement the project "Enhancing the Agricultural Value Chain for Smallholders," which targets about 2,300 Yemeni families, equivalent to more than 16,000 beneficiaries, in the governorates of Abyan, Marib and Hadramout.

The project aims to develop sources of income for families, improve the efficiency of resource use and enhance the sustainability of livelihoods for pastoral families who rely on livestock breeding.

It also intended to develop agricultural value chain loops in an integrated manner, starting from improving agricultural inputs and increasing the efficiency of irrigation techniques, and enhancing farmers' ability to achieve better economic returns.
