The Council of Ministers approved the draft budget for the fiscal year 2026, submitted by the Supreme Committee for Budgets based on the presentation provided by the Ministry of Finance.
The Cabinet approved the draft budget in its meeting today, Sunday, in in the temporary capital Aden, chaired by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Dr. Shaya Zindani.
The Cabinet also approved the draft budgets of the independent units, annexed units, special funds and economic units for the fiscal year 2026.
The draft budget for the fiscal year 2026 designed to address the national priorities in line with the available resources, enable the government to fulfill its duties and deliver on its most important obligations, first and foremost among them the regular payment of salaries and wages for the administrative and military sectors, financing basic services and supporting social protection.
The draft budget aims to achieve financial sustainability and stability, efficiently mobilize public revenues, enhance the efficiency of resource allocation and direct it towards national priorities, and promote economic recovery.
The Prime Minister stated that the approval of the budget does not merely represent a routine financial procedure, but reflects the state's return to exercising its sovereign powers most important of all is good planning of public resources and determining spending priorities according to a responsible national vision, based on the principles of discipline and transparency, away from the logic of emergency and daily crisis management.
