Supreme Committee for Budgets Approves Draft Budget for 2026

The Supreme Committee for Budgets has approved the draft budget for 2026 fiscal year, according to the presentation submitted by the Ministry of Finance, along with the policies and reforms associated with its implementation.

The observations submitted will be considered in preparation for presenting it to the Council of Ministers to complete the necessary legal procedures for its endorsement.

The committee approved the draft budget in its meeting today, Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden, presided over by the Prime and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Dr. Shaya Zindani.

The committee reviewed the financial and economic challenges facing the state and the proposed reform measures to restore institutional order in the budget preparation and implementation process.

It is important to note that this is the first time the budget is approved since 2019. It is a sign that the government is determined to restore the state's financial tools and enhancing transparency and fiscal discipline.

The 2026 draft budget is designed to achieve financial sustainability and stability, boost the efficiency of public revenue mobilization, improve the efficiency of resource allocation and direct resources toward national priorities, contributing to supporting the path of economic recovery.

The Prime Minister affirmed that preparing the 2026 budget represents a crucial step on the path of institutional and economic recovery and a clear message that the government is committed to rebuilding state institutions on the foundations of planning, discipline and governance.

Zindani stressed that it is very important for the new budget to reflect the government's priorities and its program, which aims to strengthen economic, financial and security stability, giving priority to salaries and wages, improving basic services, alleviating citizens' suffering.
