Minister of Youth and Sports Nayef al-Bakri met Sunday in the temporary capital Aden with the Director of the Office of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen Albert Scott.

The two parties discussed the government’s efforts to enhance security and stability in Aden and the liberated governorates.

During the meeting — attended by the Director of the Technical Office, Dr. Hassan Abd-Rabu and the Director of Youth Centers and Science Clubs Naseem Wasil — the Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to continuing reforms and strengthening the presence of state institutions within the country so they remain close to citizens, responsive to their concerns, aspirations, and essential service needs.

These efforts aim to solidify security and stability and pave the way for a more effective phase in serving the public and normalizing conditions in the liberated governorates.

Al-Bakri stressed that the current stage requires supportive international backing for the government’s efforts, contributing to unified ranks and strengthening institutional and economic stability.

He also highlighted the importance of partnership with the international community in supporting the reform process.

The Minister expressed appreciation for the sincere fraternal support provided by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, describing it as a fundamental pillar in supporting state institutions and reinforcing the government’s efforts to stabilize security and improve service and economic conditions.

He affirmed that Saudi support reflects the depth of fraternal ties and shared destiny, and demonstrates a commitment to Yemen’s stability and restoration of its natural role within the Arab and international spheres.

He also praised the efforts of the United Nations and its Special Envoy to Yemen to end the war, calling on the international community to intensify pressure on the Houthi terrorist militias to seriously engage in the peace process and halt obstructionist policies that deepen the humanitarian crisis.

For his part, the Director of the UN Envoy’s Office reaffirmed the United Nations’ support for the government’s efforts to implement economic reforms and strengthen stability, noting positive indicators in the government’s performance in recent times.
