Yemen’s Ambassador to Paris, Dr. Riyadh Yaseen participated Tuesday in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab World Institute in Paris to approve the appointment of Anne-Claire Legendre as the Institute’s new President, succeeding former President Jack Lang.

In his remarks, Ambassador Yaseen congratulated the new President on assuming her duties, expressing confidence in her ability to continue the path of development and openness.

He noted that she previously served at the French Embassy in Yemen nearly twenty years ago, giving her early and close insight into the realities of the region and a deeper understanding of Arab affairs at an early stage of her diplomatic career.

Ambassador Yassin affirmed Yemen’s commitment to continuing close cooperation with the Institute’s new administration and to actively contributing to its programs and activities.

He emphasized Yemen’s strong belief in the importance of joint cultural work as a bridge for bringing peoples closer together and as a cornerstone for strengthening dialogue among civilizations.
