[17/02/2026 03:09]

RIYADH-SABA
The Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani stated that the government considers the European Union (EU) as a strategic partner in the battle to restore the state and build peace.

He highly praised EU significant political, humanitarian and developmental support, greatly valued its substantial contributions to the humanitarian response plan, which has served as a vital lifeline for millions of Yemenis amid one of the most complex humanitarian crises in the world.

His remark came during his talks today, Tuesday, with the Head of the EU Mission to Yemen, Ambassador Patrick Simonet and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Jennette Seppen.

Dr. Zindani argued that the stability of Yemen is no longer a national matter, but has become directly linked to global energy security, the protection of international trade routes and the enhancement of counter-terrorism efforts, accordingly, a more effective European role is needed in the coming stage.

The two European diplomats stated that they are very keen to work closely with the government and support its efforts to achieve stability, advance the reform process, end the war and build effective state institutions.
