The Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Shaya Zindani received today a delegation from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation headed by the Director General of Political and International Security Affairs, Ambassador Cicilia Piccioni.
The talks covered Yemeni-Italian bilateral cooperation in political, diplomatic, security, economic and cultural fields, the developments in our country, the Yemeni government's top priorities in the upcoming stage, the peace prospects and the needed international support for the government's efforts aimed to manage the challenges facing the country.
Dr. expressed gratitude for Italy's supportive stance towards Yemen and its ongoing support for humanitarian and development efforts.
He highlighted the importance of further promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries to serve the mutual interests of the Yemeni and Italian peoples.
He also underlined the Yemeni government's need for international support to help it addressing pressing needs, alleviate the humanitarian suffering and improving basic services.
The Prime Minister confirmed that the government is dealing with the peace process constructively and responsibly according to the references of the national political solution and international security council resolutions, but it will not accept the continued maneuvers of the Houthi militia at the expense of worsening the suffering of the Yemeni people.
