CAIRO-SABA
The Republic of Yemen participated today, Wednesday, in the emergency meeting of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives to discuss ways to mobilize Arab and international efforts to confront the recent aggressive decisions and measures by the Israeli occupation government, aimed at seizing more Palestinian land and expanding settlement activity and their repercussions.
The Acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League, Ambassador Ali Mossa contributed to the deliberations.
The participants affirmed that these decisions constitute a blatant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, namely the Security Council resolutions that reject settlements and consider them illegal.
The Arab League Council reiterated its rejection of all Israeli unilateral measures, calling on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities in obliging Israel to halt its settlement policies and to respect its commitments as an occupying power.
The Council also called for providing international protection for the Palestinian people and supporting their steadfastness in the face of attempts at displacement and land confiscation.
