Taiz Governor Discusses Enhancing Joint Coordination, Interventions with Rahma Worldwide Foundation

The Governor of Taiz Governorate Nabil Shamsan discussed Tuesday with the Chairman of Rahma Worldwide Foundation Dr. Shadi Zaza the foundation’s interventions in the governorate and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination, particularly in priority sectors, in a manner that contributes to meeting the humanitarian and development needs of the people of the governorate.

The meeting reviewed the humanitarian interventions planned to be implemented during 2026 in the fields of education, health, environmental sanitation, and livelihoods.

Governor Shamsan affirmed that the presence of the leadership of Rahma Worldwide Foundation in the governorate represents an important addition, contributing to closely identifying Taiz’s needs and implementing qualitative interventions across several sectors.

He reiterated the local authority’s keenness to overcome all obstacles facing the foundation’s work and to deal with full transparency, ensuring the continuity of its operations and the implementation of its various programs in the governorate.

For his part, the Chairman of Rahma Worldwide Foundation expressed his thanks and appreciation to the local authority in Taiz Governorate for its continuous cooperation, affirming that Taiz holds a special place for the foundation and praising the struggle and resilience of its people.

In a related context, Governor Nabil Shamsan discussed with the Planning and International Cooperation Office team the pilot model of the electronic portal for humanitarian and development interventions in Taiz Governorate.

The portal is being prepared by the Planning and International Cooperation Office with funding from the German Berghof Foundation, aiming to enhance coordination among humanitarian and development actors, provide a unified database for all interventions, and achieve a high level of transparency.

The electronic portal aims to enable donors, UN agencies, and international and local organizations to directly and transparently manage their project data, and to support decision-making processes for governmental and supporting entities by providing accurate statistics and interactive maps that illustrate the nature and scale of interventions across the governorate’s districts.

Governor Shamsan directed that several technical and developmental modifications be made to the portal to ensure it is launched as a specialized and leading platform at the national level, keeping pace with the latest technologies in information management and humanitarian and development coordination. He also commended the efforts of the Planning and International Cooperation Office in enhancing transparency and information sharing.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, Nabil Jamel, reviewed the project’s components, its expected outputs, success indicators, and mechanisms for ensuring its sustainability.
