RIYADH - SABA
The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Mahmoud al-Subaihi met today, Wednesday, with the Russian Federation Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen EVGENY KUDROV.
They discussed Yemeni-Russian bilateral relations and ways to further promote cooperation between the two countries.
(Lt Gen) al-Subaihi praised the Russian supportive stances in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government and leadership, greatly valued Russia's support for Yemen's unity, stability and its territorial integrity as well as Russian support for regional and international efforts aimed to reach political settlement to put an end of the Yemeni people ordeal created by the Iranian regime backed Houthi militias.
The conversations covered underway preparations to hold south-south dialogue conference sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Al-Subaihi stated that state is open to all regional and international initiatives and efforts aimed to achieve fair and permanent peace. He stressed that genuine peace can't be realized except by restoring the state institutions and eliminating the coup.
Houthi militias have repeatedly proved to be a source of permanent threat to national and regional security and stability, not a peace proposal, al-Subaihi stressed.
