ADEN-SABA
The Erada Organization for Combating Torture and Enforced Disappearance has released its seventh annual report, documenting a staggering 6,417 cases of arbitrary detention in Yemen in 2025.

The report attributes most of these abuses to the Houthi militia, backed by Iran, followed by formations affiliated with the (dissolved) Transitional Council.

According to the report, the Houthi militia carried out 4,785 abductions and arbitrary detentions in September alone, including 217 children held outside juvenile detention frameworks.

A total of 24 detainees died in custody, with 12 killed by Houthis and 7 by Transitional Council forces.

The report also notes 341 cases of enforced disappearance, with Houthis responsible for 82% of these incidents.

The humanitarian situation in Yemen remains dire, with 1,815 civilians displaced by Houthi actions and 1,346 displaced by Transitional Council forces.

The Houthis led house raids and checkpoint killings, accounting for 83% of incidents. Additionally, the organization reported the recruitment of 370,200 children into Houthi indoctrination programs and 38,000 children for active duty, describing these numbers as catastrophic.
