Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

China reaffirms its commitment to supporting peace efforts in Yemen

The Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Abdullah Abu Al-Ghaith praised China's principled positions in supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government and leadership and backing Yemen's unity, security and stability in various international forums, deeply appreciating the Chinese substantial development and humanitarian support for the Yemeni people across different fields.

His remark came during his discussions today, Thursday, with the Chargé d' Affaires of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Yemen Shao Cheng.

The members of the Shura Council Dr. Abdo Maghlis, Dr. Samira Khamis and Sheikh Salah Batis contributed to the conversations which focused on the Yemeni-Chinese bilateral relations and cooperation.

The Speaker and Members of the Shura Council underscored the significant role of China in supporting international efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive and sustainable peace based on the three agreed references.

They also highlighted the importance of boosting economic partnership and activating joint cooperation programs to serve the interests of the two friendly peoples.

The Chinese diplomat reiterated Chain's firm commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government.

Mr. Zhao Cheng stated that Beijing is very to contribute effectively to the peace process and provide the necessary support to Yemen in various aspects.
