Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population for Primary Health Care, Dr. Ali Al-Walidi, on Sunday discussed with the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative to Yemen, Dr. Sayed Jafar, a number of priority issues in the health sector and ways to enhance primary health care services amid current challenges.
The meeting, held in the temporary capital Aden, also reviewed mechanisms to support essential health programs and strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization to improve the quality of health services provided to citizens, particularly in the areas of primary health care, immunization, maternal and child health, communicable disease control, and capacity building for health workers across various governorates.
The discussions addressed ongoing joint programs and projects, the challenges facing their implementation, and ways to overcome obstacles to ensure the achievement of targeted health outcomes.
