TAIZ – SABA
Governor of Taiz Governorate Nabil Shamsan discussed Wednesday the report of the Governorate’s Supreme Committee for Water Crisis Management, along with ways to unify efforts and measures aimed at alleviating the severity of the expected crisis in water supplies.
During the expanded meeting, attended by committee members and the Chief of Staff of the Taiz Military Axis, Major General Abdulaziz al-Majidi, discussions were devoted to reviewing the emergency plan intended to confront the water crisis and limit its repercussions on citizens, in light of the exceptional circumstances the governorate is experiencing.
Governor Shamsan directed the concerned authorities to swiftly implement the measures outlined in the executive procedures of the emergency plan, stressing the necessity of full cooperation with the Supreme Committee for Water Crisis Management and the operations room, in a manner that ensures unified efforts and enhances the efficiency of the response.
The Governor affirmed the commitment of supporting entities—represented by the offices of Planning and International Cooperation, Industry and Trade, the Governorate Police, Transport, and Finance—to carrying out the tasks assigned to them in accordance with Decision No. (15) of 2026 regarding the formation of the Supreme Committee for Water Crisis Management.
The Governorate’s Undersecretary for Services Engineer Rashad al-Akhali also reviewed a detailed report on the urgent measures taken to alleviate the crisis, the tasks assigned to the Supreme Committee and its subsidiary committees, as well as mechanisms for directing available resources to address the water deficit.
