Presidential Leadership Council member Tariq Saleh received the European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Patrick Simonnet, on Tuesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations and the latest developments in the Yemeni situation, both politically and on the ground.
The meeting also addressed prospects for a strategic partnership with the European Union, the efforts of the Leadership Council and the government to establish security and stability in the liberated governorates, and the dangers of terrorism and piracy in the Red Sea.
During the meeting, Tariq Saleh expressed his appreciation for the European Union's steadfast support for Yemen, its stability, and its territorial integrity, praising its pivotal role in supporting humanitarian operations over the past decade.
Tariq Saleh briefed the European Ambassador on the latest developments in the liberated governorates, emphasizing that the situation has stabilized and requires concerted national and international efforts to strengthen the state's presence and improve the efficiency of essential services needed by citizens.
