Ministry of Human Rights Condemns Houthi Militia Decision to Execute Three Citizens in al-Mahweet
[11/01/2026 01:34]
ADEN – SABA

The Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights expressed its deep concern over the announcement by the terrorist Houthi militia, yesterday Saturday, of its intention to carry out the execution of three citizens from al-Mahweet Governorate: Ismail Abu al-Ghaith, Saghir Fari’, and Abdulaziz al-Aqili.

This decision is based on sham political trials, arbitrary rulings, and confessions extracted under continuous and brutal torture.

A statement issued by the ministry, a copy of which was received by Yemen News Agency (Saba), stated that this move comes after the recent round held in the Omani capital, Muscat, by the Committee for the Exchange of Prisoners and Detainees, which was considered a starting point toward ending the file of releases on the basis of “all for all.”

The statement noted that through this decision, the militias are reverting to their habitual approach of evasion, manipulation, and backtracking on what was agreed upon.

The statement expressed the ministry’s condemnation of these reprehensible methods of tampering with and threatening the lives of innocent people, and called on the UN Special Envoy to take swift action to stop such acts and crimes whose consequences are difficult to remedy.

It stressed the necessity of exerting effective pressure to halt the militias’ continued practices of abduction, enforced disappearance, torture, and illegal sham trials, as part of a policy of intimidation and terrorism that characterizes this group.
