Yemen's Shura Council Welcomes Dissolution of Southern Transitional Council

The Shura Council has welcomed the announcement by the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) to dissolve the council, along with all its main and subsidiary bodies, and close its offices domestically and abroad.

In a statement, the Shura Council praised the STC's recognition of the futility of continuing, which perpetuates division and complicates the situation.

The council emphasized that addressing the Southern issue requires a comprehensive political process, based on national references, respecting citizens' will, and preserving unity and stability in Yemen and the region.

The Shura Council expressed full support for the decisions and measures taken by the Presidential Leadership Council, including the freeze on Aidarous Al-Zubaidi's membership, as a necessary step to protect legitimacy and reinforce accountability.

The council also commended Saudi Arabia's role in facilitating dialogue efforts and supporting calm initiatives, seeking comprehensive political solutions to end conflicts and achieve a just and sustainable settlement, preserving Yemen's security and regional stabilit
