Malaysia Affirms Supportive Stance on Yemen’s Unity Sovereignty
[27/12/2025 11:56]

KUALA LUMPUR – SABA
The Government of the Kingdom of Malaysia has affirmed its firm position in support of the unity and sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen, its territorial integrity and independence, and its full support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government as the legitimate authorities mandated to lead the transitional phase and peace-building efforts.

In a statement issued Saturday, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in supporting de-escalation initiatives, and urged the regional and international community to support initiatives that preserve Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

The ministry also expressed deep concern over the recent escalation in Yemen, particularly the unilateral military movements carried out by the Southern Transitional Council in the governorates of Hadhramout and al-Mahrah, warning of the repercussions of these developments on security and stability.

The Malaysian Foreign Ministry noted that such actions would increase tensions, undermine the fragile security environment, threaten the limited progress achieved in the political process, deepen divisions and exacerbate the humanitarian suffering faced by the Yemeni people.

The Malaysian government called for adherence to peaceful political dialogue, respect for agreed constitutional and political frameworks, and refraining from any steps that could destabilize the situation or undermine de-escalation efforts.

In conclusion, Malaysia affirmed that achieving sustainable peace in Yemen can only be realized through serious negotiations and comprehensive national reconciliation, in line with the principles of international law, expressing its solidarity with the Yemeni people amid the severe humanitarian challenges they face.
