The chief of International Organizations and Conferences at the foreign ministry, Muthanna Al-Amiri, has emphasized the need to start implementing the country's refugee pledges made at the 2023 Global Refugee Forum, despite facing severe humanitarian and economic challenges.

Al-Amiri stated that Yemen provides refugees with access to public education, national healthcare, and protection, equal to Yemeni citizens, and has taken steps towards drafting a national asylum law and registering refugees.

However, he highlighted a growing gap between humanitarian needs and available resources, calling for enhanced international partnership, joint funding, and support to transform humanitarian work into sustainable solutions promoting self-reliance for refugees and host communities.
