The visiting Saudi delegation to Hadhramaut Governorate, headed by Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani, arrived Tuesday in the districts of the Valley and Desert, following the completion of meetings in the city of Mukalla and the coastal districts.

The delegation was received by Hadhramaut Governor Salim sl-Khanbashi, several deputy governors and the sheikhs, notables, and leaders of the Valley and Desert regions.

The governor, sheikhs, and notables welcomed the visiting Saudi delegation, expressing gratitude for the support of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the head of the coalition in backing legitimacy in Yemen in general, and Hadhramaut in particular, through various stages and under these exceptional circumstances.

They emphasized that the Kingdom’s presence on the ground is clear evidence of its commitment to calm, peaceful solutions, and the security and stability of Hadhramaut.

al-Khanbashi reiterated that the delegation’s visit is strong evidence of the Kingdom’s stance and leadership, represented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Kingdom’s government.

He stated that the visit aims to reinforce the bonds of brotherhood, kinship, neighborhood and shared faith between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, relying on this visit to support Hadhramaut and its local authority in alleviating citizens’ suffering in service, economic and security sectors.

In a speech before a large gathering of sheikhs, notables, leaders, and officials from the Valley and Desert districts, the head of the Saudi delegation, Major General Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani, affirmed the Kingdom’s firm position regarding Yemen and Hadhramaut, emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm, supporting security and stability and rejecting any attempts to impose facts on the ground by force or drag the governorate into new conflicts.

He reiterated Saudi Arabia’s stance on the withdrawal of all forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council from Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah governorates, restoring the situation to its previous state.

Major General Al-Qahtani emphasized rejecting any attempts that obstruct the path to calm, stating: “Hadhramaut is a cornerstone and a primary priority for stability, not a field or arena for conflict. Hadhramaut has qualified cadres among its sons to manage its affairs and resources, which should be administered through official state institutions represented by the government and the local authority.”

He added, during the current visit of the delegation to Hadhramaut, a comprehensive set of measures was agreed upon to support security, stability, and calm with all parties, including the Southern Transitional Council.”

Major General Al-Qahtani also affirmed that the leadership of the Arab Coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, is making efforts to end the crisis, resolve the conflict, and restore conditions to their previous state.

Dr. Al-Qahtani pointed out that Saudi Arabia has historical fraternal relations with all of Yemen, and that the southern issue is a just matter that cannot be ignored or bypassed.

It is present in the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue and in any upcoming political settlement within the efforts of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to support a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.

At the conclusion of his speech, Major General Al-Qahtani announced that an initial agreement had been reached with local authorities and allied tribes in Hadhramaut to ensure the continued flow of oil production in the PetroMasila field, prevent disruption of citizens’ interests, and neutralize oil sites from conflict by replacing the currently controlling forces with Hadhrami forces under the direct supervision of the local authority in the governorate, ensuring the normalization of life.
