Sana'a-Saba
A devastating landmine explosion in Nehem district, east of Sana'a, Yemen, has claimed the lives of two innocent civilians, prompting outrage and condemnation from rights groups.
The explosion occurred when Ziad Hadi Saleh Issa and a hired worker escorting him stopped their motorcycle near the village of Barran in Nehem district, triggering a landmine planted by Houthi militia, leaving both victims fatally injured.
The rights organization "Shuhud" (Witnesses) has blamed the Houthi militia for the attack and is calling for immediate action, including an independent international investigation, disclosure of landmine maps, permission for demining teams to operate, compensation for the victims' families, and accountability for those responsible.
