The First Deputy Governor of Taiz Dr. Abdulqawi al-Makhlafi discussed Monday with the Country Director of Save the Children Mohammed Manaa the organization’s interventions in several sectors within the governorate.
During the meeting—which was attended by the Directors of the Offices of Planning and International Cooperation, Public Health and Population, al-Thawra General Hospital Authority, and the Water Corporation—al-Makhlafi affirmed the local authority’s keenness to provide all necessary facilitation for organizations to carry out their duties.
He praised the efforts of Save the Children and all active international organizations in providing developmental and community services.
For his part, the Country Director pointed to the organization’s past interventions in various sectors, including health, water, education, food security, and the environment.
He noted that the organization will implement several projects next year, including the renovation of six schools, rehabilitation of care offices for persons with disabilities, support for the Cleaning Fund with several Tuk-Tuks and support for a number of health centers and units.
He also noted to food-security interventions through a cash-based system.
He expressed appreciation for the efforts of the local and security authorities in the governorate to provide safety and facilitate the work of international organizations.
