Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, met with a delegation from the European Union and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Aden to discuss the Economic Resilience Project in Yemen and ways to develop its programs in the coming period.
The meeting reviewed joint work axes and plans to transition to the project's second phase, which aligns with government priorities in developing financial sustainability, enhancing dialogue with the private sector, preparing a national export strategy, and promoting investment in renewable energy production and distribution.
Dr. Basaheb highlighted the EU's significant interventions in food security, peace, governance, and women's empowerment, as well as OECD's extensive experience in building institutional capacities in Yemen.
The EU official confirmed the EU's commitment to continuing support for Yemen, prioritizing the country, and focusing aid programs on building the Ministry of Planning's capacities to lead recovery and reconstruction efforts.
