ADEN – SABA
A World Bank delegation, led by Senior Water Resources Specialist Naif Abu Lahoom, visited the construction site of the Al-Barzakh water pumping station project in Aden's Khormaksar district. The project, funded by the World Bank through UNOPS with a budget of $1.765 million, aims to enhance water supply network capacity and efficiency.

The delegation received a detailed briefing from Yemen's Deputy Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Najib Al-Shaabi, on the project's scope, including construction of a comprehensive pumping station, electrical works, and installation of eight horizontal pumps.

The project will improve water distribution and pumping directly into existing systems, reducing burden on the old station and enhancing service quality. Both Yemeni officials and the World Bank delegation emphasized the project's importance in supporting development efforts and improving basic services for citizens.
