Minister of Defense (Lt Gen) Mohsen al-Daeri discussed today, Monday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the British Military Attaché to the Republic of Yemen Colonel Paddy Williams areas of joint cooperation between the two countries in the fields of training and building military capabilities.
General al-Daeri welcomed the newly appointed British Military Attaché, wishing him all the best in his job.
They conferred over the situations in our country and challenges it has been facing for over a decade due to the war triggered by the Iranian regime backed terrorist Houthi militias.
The conversations touched on the collaboration between the terrorist Houthi militias and other terrorist organizations in Yemen and Somalia.
Al-Daeri highlighted the need for developing the capacities of the Yemeni armed forces, underlining the importance of reinforcing the capabilities of the navy forces and Coast Guards in order to be capable to control smuggling and protect the Yemeni seashores.
The British Military Attaché stated that his country is interested in supporting Yemen, boosting joint coordination and cooperation in the areas of common interest.
