Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhayb, held crucial talks with World Bank officials to address the country's severe water shortage crisis.
The meeting focused on urgent projects to cover basic water needs, including rehabilitation of water and sanitation infrastructure, improving operational efficiency of local water utilities, and a desalination project for Aden city, which is suffering acute water scarcity.
Dr. Basuhayb emphasized Yemen's commitment to water security and sustainable development, while World Bank officials reaffirmed support for Yemen's water sector initiatives, pledging technical and financial assistance to enhance the country's water management capabilities.
