Al-Aradah Discusses with German Ambassador Enhancement of Development Cooperation, Support for Humanitarian Efforts
[09/11/2025 12:30]

RIYADH – SABA
Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Sultan al-Aradah discussed Sunday with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen Thomas Schneider prospects for development cooperation between the two friendly countries and support for humanitarian efforts.

During the meeting, al-Aradah affirmed that the Yemeni people are facing an escalating humanitarian crisis due to the practices of the Houthi terrorist militia and its ongoing violations, as well as its persistent obstruction of peace and development efforts and its destabilizing impact on regional and international security.

He pointed out that the continuation of such practices further worsens humanitarian conditions and undermines the chances of achieving the just and comprehensive peace that all Yemenis aspire to.

Al-Aradah emphasized the importance of increasing humanitarian interventions amid the difficult circumstances Yemen is experiencing and moving from the stage of relief to that of sustainable development.

He also stressed supporting the government’s efforts to rebuild state institutions and revive the national economy.

The Presidential Leadership Council member called on the Federal Republic of Germany to expand the scope of humanitarian and development support, develop technical cooperation programs in various fields, and enhance communication and joint coordination.

He expressed his appreciation for the strong historical relations between the two countries and for the pivotal role played by Yemen’s partners and friends at all levels despite existing challenges.

For his part, the German Ambassador affirmed his country’s keenness to strengthen the historical friendship between the two nations, continue supporting Yemen in its development path, contribute to achieving stability, and work with the government and partners to improve conditions and broaden areas of future cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly peoples.
