Governor of Taiz discusses arrangements for operating Mokha Port

Governor of Taiz Governorate Nabil Shamsan discussed the ongoing arrangements for operating the port of Mokha, receiving ships in a manner consistent with the technical aspect of the port and the available capabilities.

Technical aspects and equipment necessary to ensure the smooth running of work were discussed.

During a meeting that included the Director of Mokha Port, Engineer Abdulmalik al-Sharabi, Governor of Taiz appreciated the support provided by a member of the Presidential Leadership Council Major General Tariq Saleh to re-operate the port and the efforts made to begin work.

He tressed the local authority's full support for the success of the work and coordination between the various concerned departments and the Chamber of Commerce to operate the port according to the available capabilities after it was subjected to major damage and backfilling by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.

For his part, the port director reviewed the project to deepen the port, rehabilitate it to receive small ships, and begin operation with the current technical capacity to accommodate small ships and containers.
