Presidential Leadership Council Member al-Mahrami meets with Acting U.S. Ambassador

RIYADH - SABA
The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Member Abdul-Rahman al-Mahrami met today, Tuesday, with the Acting U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Jonathan Pechia.

They conferred over the latest developments in Yemen, ways to mitigate the repercussions of the humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the attacks of the Houthi terrorist militias on oil facilities and cargo ships.

Yemeni-American joint cooperation and coordination was also touched upon.

Al-Mahrami made it clear that the priority at this stage is to provide basic services to the fellow citizens and to continue the path of economic reforms, highlighting the importance of pooling regional and international efforts to provide the necessary support that contributes to alleviate humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people due to the deteriorating economic situation and the continuing Houthi violations.

He also stated that the PLC is committed to the peace process and to working on stopping the Houthi militias' aggressive violations and engaging seriously in the peace process.

The PLC's Member called on the United States of America and the international community to mount pressures on the militias to halt their aggressive attacks against civilians and threats to international peace and security.

The Acting U.S. Ambassador praised the efforts of the security forces and their notable successes in combating terrorism, intercepting more shipments of Iranian weapons and drugs being smuggled through Yemeni coasts before reaching the Houthi terrorist militia.

The American diplomat confirmed the United States' support for the ongoing reform process and efforts to restore peace and stability in Yemen.
