Minister of Transport, Dr. Abdulsalam Humayd, met with the Ambassador of Somalia to Yemen, Abdulhakim Mohamed, in the interim capital Aden to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the fields of maritime and air transport.
During the meeting, Minister Humayd emphasized the deep historical, social, and political relations between Yemen and Somalia, highlighting the mutual interests and benefits that both countries can derive from strengthened cooperation.
The Minister assured that the Ministry of Transport would provide all necessary facilities to promote trade and economic exchange between Yemen and Somalia through sea and air ports. He also expressed willingness to support the establishment of direct air links between the two countries and to grant operating licenses to Somali airlines.
