Governor of Mahra, Mohammed Ali Yaser, met with a UNHCR team led by Engineer Faiz Baqatiyan to discuss the refugee situation in the province.

They focused on renewing and documenting Somali refugees' data.

The governor praised the UNHCR's humanitarian efforts and pledged the local authority's support for the agency's mission. He directed relevant authorities to cooperate fully with the UNHCR team to facilitate the documentation and renewal process.

The UNHCR team will start working next week to ease the procedures for renewing Somali refugees' documents, enhancing their legal status, and improving their access to services.
