Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Shaya Zindani arrived today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to participate in the work of the Aswan Forum for Peace and Sustainable Development in its fifth edition, which is hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt.
The forum, with the participation of leaders and officials from various countries and regional and international organizations, aims to enhance joint action to confront security and development challenges on the African continent and the region, and to discuss ways to support peace and sustainable development efforts.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss ways to enhance the economic and development partnership between the Red Sea countries, mechanisms to ensure maritime navigation security and confront the threats facing the region, in addition to reviewing Egyptian efforts to enhance regional peace and development initiatives.
It is expected that during the forum's work, the Egyptian Initiative (Stream), the Suez Canal and Red Sea Initiative, will be launched, which aims to enhance joint maritime security through economic and development integration between riparian countries.
