RIYADH-SABA
Presidential Leadership Council Member, Tariq Saleh, met with China's Charge d'Affaires to Yemen, Shao Zheng, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and exploring cooperation opportunities.
They reviewed Yemen's economic reform efforts and need for international support, as well as investment opportunities for Chinese companies in energy, infrastructure, and public services, particularly in renewable energy projects to help resolve Yemen's electricity crisis and boost development.
Tariq Saleh emphasized Presidential Council's commitment to peace based on constitution and law, condemning Houthi militia's refusal to accept peace, stating they only seek temporary ceasefires to regroup and prepare for new war efforts.
Shao Zheng reaffirmed China's support for the government and efforts to end war and restore stability, citing China's adherence to international decisions against arming Houthi rebels and welcoming cooperation that serves mutual interests.
